CACI is seeking a Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to support our government project located in Crane, IN.
What You’ll Get to Do:
You will be a part of the Navy’s Shipboard Electro-Optic Systems Engineering Team performing Reliability and Maintainability duties.
More About the Role:
Provide engineering and technical support for the design, development, test, evaluation, and engineering related logistics to the procurement and related services for electronic and mechanical systems, subsystems, equipment and components related to shipboard EO.
Analyze and evaluate proposed engineering designs or documented equipment performance estimations.
Assist in the investigation and resolution of technical problems and issues pertaining to the system requirements.
Assist with the applicability of R&M to satisfy requirements review, and evaluation of current products available on the market and recommended strategies for equipment procurement. These analyses and studies may entail conducting, arranging for, or monitoring environmental testing, performance testing or developing simulations.
Review and analyze manufacturing technologies and/or processes.
Review technical specifications for accuracy in support of procurements.
Analyze design data to determine defects detracting from equipment, system, or component capability to perform to its intended operational requirements and to satisfy all specification requirements in relation to performance, reliability, maintainability and availability.
Assist with the evaluation of the design and performance data to make recommendations on strengths and weaknesses of potential equipment types in meeting applicable performance requirements.
Perform reliability predictions and perform modeling, simulation, and analysis, including inputting provided technical data into the modeling software, running the software simulation, and assisting in analyzing the data for product support strategy.
Perform an independent Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) on equipment design in accordance with approved NAVSEA guidelines and International Standard IEC 60812:2006 (Analysis Techniques for System Reliability – Procedure for Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
Perform maintainability analyses and prepare maintainability planning documentation utilizing guidance obtained from MIL-HDBK-470A Notice 2 (Designing and Developing Maintainable Products and Systems) on equipment or systems. Develop maintenance concepts and criteria and provide to the Government all justification for any assumptions used. These tasks may include the following areas:
Generation of maintainability program plans, concepts tasks and criteria.
Perform design reviews and test evaluations to minimize maintenance support.
Evaluate technical documentation such as repair standards, drawings, specifications, test procedures, Maintenance Requirements Cards (MRCs), ECPs, other provided maintenance schedules, and item bill of material.
Assist in the development or review of provisioning of parts, establishing part replacement factors and Source Maintenance and Recoverability (SM&R) coding.
Prepare/review installation design and physical layout for reliability, ease of maintenance and ergonomic factors; develop or review installation standards and practices.
Develop or review the technical content of personnel training criteria.
Formulate maintainability predictions and analysis including Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), failure rate calculations for use during burn in and wear out, burn in time for replaceable items, time to end of life, replaceable item failure rates, and operational availability, utilizing NAVSEAINST 4000.6A as guidance.
Maintainability analyses to include maintenance concepts, preventative maintenance studies, personnel and facility constraints identification, and evaluations of equipment troubleshooting techniques and procedures.
Perform maintainability design criteria studies.
Perform or assist with maintainability demonstration testing.
Prepare or review computer programs and systems to support system or component maintenance.
Participate in maintainability program reviews on equipment or systems, record and report any discrepancies/problems, and formulate recommendations to resolve these discrepancies/problems and submit these recommendations with supporting rationale.
Collect and analyze the Navy’s maintenance data with respect to reliability and maintainability to provide the results including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), validation plan for MTBF calculations, replaceable item failure rates, and Operational Availability (OA).
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
Typically University Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering discipline and minimum 7 years of experience in DOD Reliability and Maintainability Engineering.
Experience in Microsoft Products Office like Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience in Windchill Quality Solutions (WQS) / Windchill Risk and Reliability (WRR)
Technical education/experience that enables the candidate to interpret and apply technical documentation such as engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
