CACI is currently looking for outstanding IT candidates to join our TSA IT Management, Performance Analysis, and Collaborative Technologies (IMPACT) team in the National Capital Region (NCR) and throughout the United States. CACI will provide a variety of IT services through IMPACT including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services. CACI will support TSA in both classified and unclassified IT operational environments increasing availability and security for a variety of applications and systems. IMPACT services will integrate with the broader DHS mission and enhance existing Department-wide IT capabilities.
What You’ll Get to Do:
As the Operations and Information Assurance Intern, the candidate will shadow Cyber Security Engineering team members as they perform Security Operations Center (SOC) duties, which include incident response, malware analysis, and network monitoring. The candidate will also shadow Risk Management team members as they perform vulnerability response in accordance with the granting of authorization to operate IT systems at acceptable levels of risk. Responsibilities will include monitoring and testing of IT systems for vulnerabilities and indications of compromise, incident response and remediation, the development of appropriate policy, relevant user security awareness and training, and compliance with applicable government and other external standards.
Shadow the teams as they perform all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction
Create technically detailed reports based on intrusions and events
Provide assistance in computer incident investigations
Coordinate with other teams to remediate detected incidents
Analyze and evaluate anomalous network and system activity
Recommend modifications to security tools to detect, prevent, and mitigate intrusions
Recommend mitigation activities and provide after action reports to remediate vulnerabilities and reduce the chance of further exploitation Responsible for Security monitoring across TSA Infrastructure
Support Vulnerability Scanning Assessments by identifying vulnerabilities or anomalies, providing mitigation, and associated reports
Support measurement and SLRs defined by the TSA Infrastructure Cyber Security Monitoring Response program
Coordinate with team to provide Cyber Security Monitoring and Response reports
More About the Role:
Responsible for working with teams to implement and apply technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from malicious attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
Shadow the team as they maintain network devices and perform activities for contract deliverables
Shadow cyber investigations of network device and information security incidents to determine extent of compromise to national security information and automated information systems. May provide intrusion support to high technology investigations in the form of network assessments
Analyze and review security findings and data
Publish reports and keep metrics for client systems. Identify trends and root causes of system failures or vulnerabilities
Research and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer and network vulnerabilities, data hiding and network and device security and encryption
Recommend as applicable, the designs and developments of integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected in accordance with mandated standards
Work with team to configure and validate secure systems; test security products/systems to detect computer and information security weakness
Generate security architecture documentation
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship required
An active Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employment
A willingness to learn Security Hardening guides, Vulnerability Assessment tools and methods, Security Content and Automation Protocol (SCAP), Security Monitoring and Response tools and procedures
An understanding of Network Security Concepts
Good understanding Linux System Administration, Apple System Administration or Windows
College Senior or recent graduate with minimum 1-year related course work/experience and strong interest in becoming an information assurance analyst in a large Enterprise IT program
Typically majoring in Business, Management, Computer Information Systems, or similar program
Clear communication, ability to be agile and prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment
Driven, can do attitude and enjoys a collaborative working environment
SharePoint, Excel and Microsoft Office skills
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience supporting a DHS contract
Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
