Job Description

CACI has an outstanding opportunity for select Sr GIS Administrator that wants to make a difference in the defense of the nation by applying their talents and experience in a fast-paced dynamic environment in support of US Special Operations Command.  The opportunities are limited to those that have the operational and technical experience, and skills to effectively apply geospatial acumen in support of real-world operations.  The candidate will be an integral part of a selective professional geospatial IT development team that directly supports the analysis during the operational planning cycle to support mission success.  This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization and will be located in Fayetteville, NC. 

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the development, implementation, and

maintenance of an enterprise wide GIS and associated geospatial databases, network equipment and software tools and applications. The candidate will perform complex analysis, design and modification of GIS applications and databases and evaluation of new GIS hardware and software.


  • Top Secret Clearance AND meet the requirements of DCID 6/4
  • Minimum of ten years GIS experience within DOD or the Intelligence Community
  • Five years of technical experience
  • Shall be highly proficient in administering and deploying open source and commercial off the shelf (COTS) GIS server equipment in support of intelligence organizations
  • Strong ability to write custom scripts for automation and analysis using Python with

    knowledge of C# and Java

  • Perform at high level/expert intelligence systems architecture design and evaluation
  • Shall possess an expert working knowledge of the discovery, analysis and exploitation of geospatially oriented data and the management of that data within a variety of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant applications and databases
  • Shall possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be capable of effectively directing subordinates
  • Shall possess high level/expert ability to manage and work with static and dynamic streaming geospatial oriented data
  • Security+ certification


  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of general experience in the fields of targeting, intelligence systems architecture and geospatial systems experience are highly desirable
  • Two years of additional relevant hands on experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
