Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

Under the direction and guidance of the Manager of Quality Assurance, the Quality Inspector's primary role will be to inspect incoming Electro-mechanical parts and assemblies but not limited to assisting in the daily departmental functions of inspection and development of inspection process and procedures. 

Essential Functions:

Perform incoming inspections of electrical and mechanical parts (Electro-mechanical parts) and sub-assemblies.  Ensure that product received is manufactured to the latest applicable configuration documentation and is defect free. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI or FAIR) and support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Maintain, control and process non-conforming material and support Material Review Board (MRB) and the Change Control Board (CCB) process. Assist in defect tracking and evaluation process, including trend evaluation to reduce recurrences. When required conduct of source inspections at supplier facilities.


A minimum of 3 years’ experience in inspecting electro-mechanical parts or Aerospace and defense industry. IPC-610-A or J-STD-001 certification or trained (or working knowledge).

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with leading/participating in material review board in a manufacturing environment. Establish an inspection process and implement them throughout all inspection processes Experience with setting up quality inspection plans in an MRP system

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Experience with inspecting Electro-optical parts is a plus. Experience with Oracle EBS and JIRA is a plus. Experience with Arena Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) a plus or other PLM tools. Experience with or working knowledge of CMM and other mechanical and electrical testing tools or equipment. Working knowledge of ISO9001 or AS9100 and experience working within an established Quality Standard Process.
