What You’ll Get to Do: The Data Entry Clerk provides operational support for the Division of Receipt and Referral (DRR) at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Center for Scientific Research (CSR). The Clerk performs the review and finalization processing activities for paper and electronic research grant applications.
More About the Role:
Responsible for receipt, processing, and routing functions for grant applications.
Route incomplete and/or unsigned applications according to established DRR procedures; verifies all data entered.
Provide direct support to the Director, DRR, senior management and other staff
Perform quality review and routing functions with electronically received grant applications.
Check grant identification data entered by applicants in the e-Commons/IMPAC system.
Cross checks grant application package information against Grants.gov information; verifies the accuracy and completeness of information in both cross-checking actions and refers problems, as necessary
Manages and organizes grant applications on the DRR Shared Drive.
Manage the Division of Receipt and Referral Central phone system and inbox
Track application status and report as required (including performing queries to identify specific applications and report on their status).
Coordinate with ORR staff, IRG staff, and applicants regarding application routing and assignment.
Track and report on work volume and other work characteristics as required by CSR.
Validate submissions against Federal, DHHS, NIH, and CSR policies and regulations.
Validate grant application submissions against grant program criteria, policies, and procedures.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
1+ years of relevant work experience
Experience interacting with a diverse customer base.
Proven analytic, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent computer and IT skills.
Proven ability to problem solve.
Experience with the tools and processes used for data collection and analysis.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Accurate data entry skills
Knowledge of e-Commons/IMPAC data categories and file structure
Understanding of grant receipt policies and procedures
Familiarity with Grants.gov data categories and file structures
Familiarity with DRR routing and sorting resources and procedures
