Job Description

CACI’s Business and Information Technology Solutions (BITS) Sector, is seeking a Configuration Engineer to join it’s large, prime program in support of the Intelligence Community.  All staff are fully cleared, and the program provides mission critical Enterprise Application Messaging and Authorization Services worldwide.  The technical staff develops and supports complex data transport, enterprise audit, authorization, information transport, and enterprise application hosting services. 

This program provides opportunities to support highly visible, widely used systems that “make a difference” in this mission critical effort.  You will work with exceptionally talented professionals in a collaborative team environment to develop and maintain tools that are core infrastructure components!

What You’ll Get to Do:

As the Configuration Engineer, you will provide datacenter network, development, deployment, configuration management, and maintenance in support of enterprise middleware solutions.  Activities will include designing network solutions, ensuring all security needs are being met, and documentation. Additional tasks include:

  • Providing implementation support for migration to and configuration of new datacenters (switches, routers, firewalls, servers, Red Hat KVM and VMware Virtual Machines, SAN devices)
  • Providing information systems security compliance support for meeting CVE/IAVA requirements for operating systems, Open Source, and Commercial software for all managed systems and devices
  • Deploying and supporting virtualized and cloud-based computing environments
  • Supporting lab-based hardware and servers that host middleware solutions, to include loading and maintaining operating systems, patches, and application software
  • Technical supervision of tasks as assigned

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and 10 years of related experience.  Additional experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Current TS/SCI Polygraph clearance.
  • 5+ years experience with configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting SAN/NAS from multiple vendors including Sun/NetApp/Dell
  • 5+ years experience with configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting RHEL and/or CentOS systems on bare-metal, virtual (VMware or Red Hat KVM), and cloud environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently to triage issues and prioritize tasks
  • Able to clearly communicate ideas, issues and status updates to management and other team members
  • Technical writing skills
  • Experience with Visio

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience deploying to and managing software in cloud computing environments.
  • Experience with Citrix, Windows 2012 R2 Enterprise Server, Active Directory and DNS, to include creating and maintaining group policies
  • Knowledgeable in datacenter automation and scripting with Puppet
  • Experience building, deploying and maintaining RPM packages
  • Proficient in creating and improving shell scripts
  • Working knowledge of Windows DHCP
  • CCNA, CCNP, RHCSA, RHCE, Hadoop or MCSE certified
