Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI has an immediate opening for an Engineering Technician to support engineering and planning efforts for Submarine Rescue and Mobility platforms at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) in Kittery, Maine. You will:

  • Develop modernization plans/changes for the US Navy Deep Submergence Assets and Support Systems
  • Assists in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials
  • Evaluate components and materials and systems to ensure system integration, compatibility and stability
  • Uses judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information
  • Some travel will be required. 
  • Work will be in support of US Navy Submarines, Submersibles or Deep Submergence projects.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of submarine / submersible experience with at least 2 of these years spent working with engineering drawings
  • Experience with configuration management and document control
  • Demonstrated ability to manage work in a time-sensitive operational environment
  • Ability to achieve excellence working individually or as part of a team
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience specifically with US Navy Deep Submergence Assets and Support Systems.
  • Familiarity with Scope of Certification (P9290/Man-010) requirements
  • Electrical power background (NSTM 300)
  • Familiarity with Military Specifications, ANSI and ASME standards
  • Related submarine / submersible experience with design, maintenance, operations, repair and/or testing
  • Experience with MS Office suite of products
