CACI is currently looking for experienced Architect to join our Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology (BEAGLE) contract at the Agile Solution Factory (ASF). Join this passionate team of industry-leading technologists supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Northern Virginia and nationwide!

As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP Agents and Officers protect our national security and borders through coordinated border security, customs, immigration, and agricultural law enforcement activities.

The ability to quickly adapt and work constructively across a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Responsible for technical activities associated with delivery of customer-defined systems and software projects

  • Providing evaluation of third-party tools (Analysis of Alternatives) and communicating with vendors.

  • Architect a secure Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem of sensors and devices which can be monitored, maintained and data accessed from remote locations.

  • Preparing written and oral communication with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Architect new solutions in a Multi-Tenant Cloud Architecture that will support legacy .NET, Java, and COTS client/server applications

  • Work well within an integrated team environment as well as independently.

  • Document, Update and develop solution-level architectures, detailed designs, and strategies, and transition plans.

  • Provide hands-on support in transitioning programs from development, through operational installation, through to Operations and Sustainment.

  • Champions all aspects of the enterprise architecture function including architectural standards, governance processes, and provides the vision to explore and effectively utilize emerging technologies

  • Performs Architecture reviews as required, ensuring initiatives are aligned with future state

  • Manages  experienced  professionals who exercise latitude and independence in  assignments, Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments

You have:

•             Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to:

o             3 year check for felony convictions

o             1 year check for illegal drug use

o             1 year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical discipline.

  • 7+ years of solution development or related experience.

  • Professional experience operating within cross-functional teams and groups.

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

You are good at:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.

  • Experience in technology delivery, especially in Internet environments.

  • Work experience with relevant AWS and other cloud technologies.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously to drive results in a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Experience working as an Architect on large-scale software implementations.

  • Working experience with relevant database technologies

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in web design, usability, and accessibility.

  • Collaborate with Developers, Program Managers, Testers, and Production Support Engineers to implement innovative technical solutions via iterative approach reducing time to delivery.

  • Work experience in multi-tier enterprise architecture environments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Experience with Java; Familiarity with the following: Spring, JavaScript, XML, JSON, Eclipse, Maven, jUnit, and shell scripting.


Bonus would be having:

  • Experience in Continuous integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) as well as SecDevOps processes and tools

  • Certifications with AWS or any other cloud services
