System Engineer to assist Navy in establishing and subsequently maintianing virtualized surface combat systems for the Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS) program. Ideal candidate will have experience in the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) as well as Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms. Must be able to travel and perfom shift work. Needs to work well within an industry government team.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Develop and maintain operation of virtualized the Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS) Control Processor (CP) systems for all in-service baselines.
Assess and root cause reported computer program problems, develop and recommend solutions, deliver analysis reports.
Install and configure applications.
Support land-based installation and training events as required.
Report status at internal and customer meetings.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Understanding of building and maintaining Virtual Machines
Proficiency with Linux Operating Systems
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or Information Technology discipline
Real Time, deterministic computer programming experience
Knowledge of Unix and Linux Operating Systems.
Working knowledge of Virtual Machines (VM)
Working knowledge of Containers
